How do we navigate the moral and ethical questions of our day? We find out what our Lord said to any situation at hand. So let me posit a scenario. Should we send our children to government funded and government ran schools? Consider what our Lord has said,
Mat 22:21 KJV They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.”
I know what you’re thinking. The Lord is talking about money, not children, or school. The Lord is talking about things that are God’s and the things that are the governments. Consider this passage of scripture concerning children.
Psa 127:3-5 KJV 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
If children are the “heritage of the Lord”. They are His and do not belong to the government. In Ephesians chapter 6 we are told that fathers are to “bring them(children) up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”. If this is the direction of God for fathers to their children why do we hand them over to “Caesar” (the government) for them to teach.
We wonder as to why our children are struggling with concepts of freedom and God. It is because we have given them over to the government to be educated in godlessness and socialistic atheism. We must help our children know God they are His heritage. It is high time we as families stop allowing “Caesar” to educate and indoctrinate our children.
