Friday night August 2nd at 7 p.m. Cornerstone Homeschool Connection is hosting an NWA Homeschool Event at Cornerstone’s beautiful event center in Lowell. (411 South Goad Springs St, Lowell, AR) The event is open to homeschool parents, those considering home education, or anyone who wants to learn about homeschooling.

We invite you to join us for desserts, fellowship, and a Q & A Panel of local homeschool parents & leaders.

This is your chance to ask questions and get real-life answers from parents who have been through the trenches. Get insight into homeschooling from preschool through graduation. Our pro-panel will be answering your questions like:

  • How to get started
  • Homeschooling one child
  • Homeschooling multiple children
  • Special Needs
  • How to avoid burn-out
  • The High School Years
  • Curriculum options
  • Homeschooling during difficult times
  • How dads can be an encouragement
  • and more

There is no cost for the evening, but we request that you sign up HERE

Last year's event and panel of homeschool parents was a huge success. This year we are excited to bring in 4 more parents who will answer questions and encourage you in your homeschool journey.

Jean Deschenes is a mother to ten children and has over twenty-three years of homeschooling experience. Before her oldest daughter entered 7th grade, she pulled them out of public school and began homeschooling. Spending more time with her children and having control over what they were learning was her motivation. After graduating her youngest child, Jean started her own business and loves to help small business owners be successful. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Rick Koretoff is the new Headmaster for Founders Classical Academy of Rogers and has worked with Founders for the past 10 years. He and his wife, Rebekah, homeschool their 3 children and enjoy the freedom and flexibility homeschooling provides. They consider being able to teach their children the Word of God as foundational and a blessing. Rick teaches and is on the leadership team at Cornerstone Baptist Church. He has lived in NWA his entire life and enjoys the opportunities the region has created. He enjoys tinkering with technology and spending time with his family.

Sarah Snyder has 4 kids and has homeschooled for 15 years. Her two oldest have graduated high school, and the third is in her last year of high school. Sarah and her husband, Jon, of 24 years, started homeschooling to give their children the best foundation they could and the flexibility to pursue interests. With a family philosophy of Try All the Things while being grounded in Biblical Truths, they have seen a love for learning and many varied talents exposed in their kids.

Kelly Surber is a blessed wife and adoptive mom to a 9-year-old girl. She taught public school for 8 years. After the birth of their daughter, Kelly and her husband chose for her to be a stay-at-home mom because they knew no one would love, teach, and train her as they would. Kelly immediately got involved in the homeschool community through her church teaching various co-op classes. In addition to homeschooling, Kelly teaches English online to Chinese students. Her faith and desire for her daughter to have a Christian education was her motivation for home education. Kelly has never regretted that decision.
